Inauguration of a New BOPP Plant in Central America

With the successful startup of our second BOPP line in Central America, Opp Film El Salvador and Oben Holding Group officially inaugurated their new plant with a ceremony presided over by the President of the Republic, Mr. Salvador Sánchez Cerén, and his Vice President, Mr. Oscar Ortíz, in the company of the CEO of Grupo Oben, Mr. Jamil Zaidan.

In said ceremony, Opp Film El Salvador showed the guests its two 8.7-meter BOPP lines with a total production capacity of 70,000 MT/year aimed at the production of high-quality films; and a 4.5-meter-wide high-volume metallizer with a production capacity of 15,000 MT/year. This plant, the only one of its kind in the Central American region, will serve to supply and boost the growing demand throughout Central America and the Caribbean, and to serve customers in the countries of Mexico, the United States and Canada in less time.

Oben Holding Group has its main offices in Lima, Peru and has production plants in 6 countries in South and Central America where BOPP, CPP, BOPET, BOPA films, Extrusion Coated Products and Thermoformed Products are produced with a total capacity production of 400,000 MT/year.
