New BOPA Plant will start up at the beginning of 2019

We share the details of our new BOPA plant in Peru (bioriented polyamide – NYLON), which will start production during the first quarter of next year. This new line is of the latest generation, with a width of 6.6 meters and will have a production capacity of 13,000 MT/year, which added to those of our plant in Chile, will bring the total BOPA production capacity of the Oben Group to 20,000 MT/annual.

BOPA films are characterized by their excellent barrier to gases, aggressive liquids and aromas; for its chemical resistance, its resistance to puncture and high and low temperatures. They are mainly used in the packaging of cheeses, sausages, seafood and meat, vacuum and retortable packaging, in the pharmaceutical industry and in the production of helium balloons, among others.

This increase in capacity will allow us to continue consolidating our varied product offer consisting of: BOPP, CPP, BOPET, BOPA, metallic and coated products; providing more special films and new developments, accompanied by a value proposition that generates savings and better delivery times to our customers.
